WHY CERAMIC or GRAPHENE Coatings have become ESSENTIAL
Ceramic Coatings (First Generation) and Graphene Coatings (Second Generation) have changed from being an optional addition on cars paints protecting them from environmental damage from contaminants, sun damage and animal byproducts to an essential requirement for protecting modern cars paints.
Traditionally car paints were chemical based paints which were considerably more durable than modern water-based paints but had environmental concerns while being applied during manufacture of the vehicle.
The transition to water-based paints was to reduce environmental impacts of chemicals offering the automotive industry a cleaner option, but had its own set of problems associated with the technology.
Water based paints are better environmentally than chemical-based paints but do not tend to have the durability in comparison.
Initially manufacturers would coat vehicles with a thicker water-based paint to provide additional lifetime expectancies on the paint they sprayed on the vehicles.
The process and development of water-based paints has continued over the past 20+ years and now manufacturers have made paints only thin enough to cover their warranty requirements based upon normal car daily usage.
This means under the harsh Queensland sunshine there is a very real chance of failure before the end of the warranty period or very close after it has been completed.
It has become essential to provide protection to modern car paints as things like bird droppings and tree saps can damage the clearcoat of the car and these are considered outside of the warranty for the paint and this can result in very expensive repair costs.
If your budget does not stretch to thousands of dollars for a paint protection system at least get something onto the paint to protect it. You can always upgrade coatings later when you have the budget to do the upgrade...
